One of the long-term goals for Stahl is reducing our environmental footprint. This we do, by focusing on the use of water, energy and resources at our global facilities. Part of that effort is upgrading our manufacturing sites and recently, we’ve improved the wastewater facilities at our production plant in Suzhou, China.

Taking steps forward in effluent waste management

The upgrades in Suzhou concerning the wastewater management ensure a consistent commitment to the environment at our manufacturing facility. We made the following changes to improve our effluent waste management:

These upgrades are another step for Stahl in making our operations more environmentally responsible, following our recent efforts in power generation at our manufacturing site in Brazil.

Blue skies, green land and clean rivers

The Chinese Government is committed to stimulate a more responsible industry with a policy for blue skies, green land and clean rivers. This is realized through new legislation and strict supervision on the implementation of these new policies. A new national standard for waste discharge control was also established to emphasize these goals. The upgraded facility in Suzhou now fully meets (and exceeds) these new environmental requirements.

Continuous focus on reducing our environmental footprint

Water and effluent management is one of the highest priority issues for Stahl. That is why we continuously monitor and innovate the consumption of water, energy and resources at our manufacturing sites. We continuously work to upgrade our facilities to increase efficiency and improve our work practices. Water management is one of the ongoing projects and Stahl is installing water treatment facilities at all our global sites not yet equipped with them. This way, we reduce the amount of wastewater sent to third-party treatment locations and improve our overall environmental footprint.
