Barcelona, we joined leading industry partners as we focused on chemical and environmental management in the fashion and footwear supply chain.
SAC & ZDHC
SAC (Sustainable Apparel Coalition) and ZDHC (Zero Discharge Hazardous Chemicals) organized a workshop to highlight the transformation in the fashion industry. Over 100 participants attended the event, which focused on environmental responsibility. ZDHC is a coalition of fashion brands, value chain affiliates and associates of which Stahl has been a long-term associate. As chemical supplier, we joined the coalition as a strong adherent of the ZDHC-founded manufacturing restricted substances list. A point of focus was the Higg index and MRSL as tools for businesses that are striving to combat climate change and reduce their environmental footprint.
The Higg Index
Developed by the SAC, the Higg index was created as a toolset that helps businesses to realize more sustainable practices. By envisioning sustainability as a holistic approach, it helps measure improvements throughout the whole process. Higg index is suitable for retailers, brands and facilities of all sizes, who require tools that support every step of their sustainability journey. The Higg Index toolkit contains:
- Product Tools, which help understand and measure the impact of apparel, footwear and textiles.
- Facility Tools to help manufacturing facilities around the world to gain insights on their environmental and social impact.
- Brand & Retail Tools, which help brands and retailers, assess the sustainability of product lifecycles, environmental performance and social impact across the value chain.
Cleaning up the supply chain
