We innovate with our suppliers to achieve new and improved performance, lower environmental footprints, higher stability and safer overall options, and onlywork with partners that share our commitments on social and corporate responsibility.

Building sustainable partnerships

Stahl Procurement develops sustainable relationships with our suppliers around the world to deliver added value and innovative solutions to our customers.

Our emphasis on building partnerships means we feel a special responsibility in our supplier relationships when it comes to the economic, ethical and environmental aspects of the relationship. We respect our suppliers’ corporate culture and their employees, and maintain ethical relationships built on trust, mutual interest and respect.

Stahl uses the Ecovadis system to gain more insights in the sustainability performance of our suppliers. EcoVadis provides holistic sustainability rating services of companies. Stahl is rated on the material issues as they pertain to their company's size, location and industry The evaluation is based on 4 main themes: environment, human and labor rights, business ethics, and responsible sourcing. These evidence-based assessments are refined into scorecards and the scores lead to a medal (bronze, silver, gold). Stahl has been awarded with the EcoVadis Silver Medal in 2020.

Sustainability in procurement: Stahl Code of Conduct for Business Partners

We’re committed to the United Nations Global Compact’s 10 Principles. This means we expect our suppliers to commit to these as well in the areas of human rights, labor relations, environment and anti-corruption. As we want to set an example in the areas of the environment and health and safety, we take a real interest in the working conditions at our suppliers.

To ensure our procurement is sustainable, we believe it is essential that our suppliers follow our commitment. Our Supplier Code of Conduct is important in the integration and development of sustainability in procurement.

Stahl Procurement

Stahl has organized a central procurement team within Stahl Holdings to make optimal use of the buying power of the group and to get the best purchase prices. Steered by the Group Director Procurement, the central procurement team selects suppliers and negotiates prices for Stahl Group globally. The central team also sets out the purchasing strategy to local Stahl Group employees, who are responsible for its execution. This is monitored by the central procurement team.
