Stahl is committed to the guiding principles of United Nations (UN) Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. With this commitment, we confirm the alignment of our strategy and operations with the universal principles of human rights, labor, environment and anticorruption. Additionally we are aligning our businesses with UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Every year, we report our policies, risks, progress and performance in the Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Report and Compliance Report.

Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Report

The 2019 ESG report (formerly Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Report) covers the key activities over the period and corresponds to Stahl’s strategy and stakeholder desire for transparency on environment, social and governance.

This report has been prepared, whenever possible, in accordance with the GRI Standards: Core option / self declared. Environmental, Safety and HR data has been validated by a 3rd party verifier (Deloitte).

Stahl has published its annual reports on environment, social and governance topics since 2013. The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations (UN) Global Compact and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been key references in the preparation of these reports and continue to provide valuable guidance for the company. Stahl’s approach to ESG is grounded in its long-term business strategy and based on the insights of shareholders, clients, supply chain and industry partners.

Stahl Compliance Report

With regard to compliance, Stahl focuses on local laws and regulations, sanctions and embargoes, safety, health and environment (SHE) and IT security, Codes of Conduct for Business Partners and Employees, modern slavery and diversity and inclusion.

To increase awareness within the organization of our compliance responsibilities, Stahl developed an employee compliance training program that covers bribery, corruption, modern slavery and workplace diversity and inclusion.

Wendel, long-term investment company

Since 2016 Stahl and Wendel, a French long-term investment company, jointly build on an even stronger world leader position in responsible chemistry for specialty chemistry of coatings, processing and treatments. Annually the Wendel group publish the registration document, which gives insight in the achievements and risks of the group, the outlook of the future and the joint CSR commitments, driving by the many strict French laws, including Sapin II, Duty of Care and the EFPD.
