Sometimes, great ideas just find each other. This was the case with Stahl and HP (Hewlett-Packard). HP wanted to make printing synthetic surfaces more sustainable. Stahl had a solution that would make these prints more durable. The result is HP Latex Ink with Stahl EVO® coating ; a more environmentally friendly way to create a more durable and long-lasting print.


More sustainable and durable latex ink printing with HP

Water-based printing that meets market demands

The launch of water-based HP Latex Inks as an alternative to solvent- and eco-solvent based inks answered the sustainability part. Water-based HP Latex Inks preserve the flexibility of the material being printed and have a far lower environmental footprint.

And then HP partnered with Stahl to enhance the durability of their unique product. Combining HP Latex Ink with our Stahl EVO® coating created a printing solution that delivers durable quality in a way that is also cost-effective and environmentally responsible. The result is complete creative freedom, unlimited aesthetic options and consistent color intensity on a variety of surfaces.


Printing durability up, environmental footprint down

Latex inks have many advantages over solvent and eco-solvent based printing. Prints using HP Latex Inks are cured inside the printer, eliminating the need for external heaters, dryers or drying racks. This reduces power demands and space requirements. HP Latex Inks only produce very small quantities of volatile organic compounds and no hazardous air pollutants, which eliminates the need for power-hungry filters and ventilation units. And being water-based, they don’t require special handling or disposal.

Stahl EVO®: perfect for water-based inks for synthetic printing

Stahl EVO® is our range of polyurethane coatings that comply with Zero Discharge Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) and Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) requirements. This means Stahl EVO® doesn’t contain any hazardous classified substances while offering the performance leading brands expect. For digital printing, the Stahl EVO® primer is the perfect preparation and a 100% water-based Stahl EVO® top coat is perfect for applying on printed synthetic substrates to create durable, smooth and wide color gradients.
