Think sensational

Doing everything to feel alive and unique. Being seen and heard. To exist for ourselves and in the eyes of others.

In an effort to revitalise the creative process and achieve singularity and heightened sensations in our vapid, globalised, anonymous and standardised world, this season will prioritise experiences and expression over functionality and practicality.

The keywords, in no particular order, are: intense, head-spinning, exceptional, surprising, emotional. In short, ‘sensational’, in every sense of the word.

Nexus trend

Immersion, Futuristic spirituality, Innovation, Spatial, Emotional technology

Feeling anxious about today and the world of tomorrow leads to a desire to flee the present and experience a temporal shift. In other words, to live in nostalgia for days gone by, and simultaneously, in the vision of a peaceful future. Drawing from archaism and futurism and borrowing from the Baroque period and the 1970s, it feels good to take refuge in an illusion that encompasses both the retrospective and the prospective.

In the face of the constant bombardment of images and stimuli we encounter daily, we learn to focus on a single idea, express our convictions and develop them with tenacious control. This allows us to reconnect with the world and live our lives to the full. A focus on sensory and immersive experiences (visual, auditive, olfactory, tactile, gustatory) intensifies every sensation.

The concepts of minimalism, quiet luxury and deconsumption have sown the seeds of caution and uniformity. What if we used the new constraints and technologies of production (recycling, circularity, AI) to revive the essence of eccentricity, without sacrificing the environment? Letting go, through joyful excess, improbable encounters and extreme experimentation, reopens the field of possibilities and helps us to feel freer.

Tribus trend

Primal instinct, Original, Ancestral, Archaic gestures, Extraordinary nature

A plumage artist recreates the plumage of extraordinary birds using feathers, leather or metal. A goldsmith carves poisonous plants and other strange flowers. A blacksmith or even a 3D printer creates climbing vines.

A digital photographer reworks his prints, bringing dreamlike landscapes to life. From across the arts and crafts spectrum to cutting-edge technology connoisseurs endowed with the excellence of savoir-faire, artisans from all walks of life create surreal natural settings with the use of metal, wood, ceramics, paper and textiles.

Through creations that send us on journeys to exotic lands and magical tales filled with poetry, we visualise fauna and flora, imagining nature that is not from here, there or anywhere. This new era of Baroque refuses to silence its desire for the experimental, the strange and the intriguing, nor the touch of the sensational in our decoration. It is no longer a silence of quiet luxury; rather, a gust of noisy luxury approaches us.

Pomp trend

Deanery spirit, Unconventional opulence, 1970s Renaissance, Excessive decay, Theatre

This season, escape the ambient gloom by bringing opulence and theatricality into everyday life. Extravagant materials are celebrated in a whirlwind of silks, brocades, damasks, jacquards, velvets, glazed leathers and sumptuous furs. The Renaissance, the Early Renaissance, Art Deco and the 1960s and 1970s are historical and eclectic, dwelling on a few key periods renowned for their sophisticated and uninhibited splendour. The savoir-faire reveals its skill and mastery through exuberant embellishments: inlays, gilding, lacquer, feathers, lace, embroidery and jewels.

Anomaly trend

Experiment, Maximalism, Creativity, Audacity, Joyful strangeness

Injecting creativity into a simplified lifestyle, adding surprise to routines, and bringing normality and abnormality together... cosmetic experimentation not in a laboratory setting, but as children do: without preconceived ideas or concern for beauty. It's just for fun, at the risk of appearing out of the ordinary, different, strange, discordant or marginal. Twisted proportions, deformed volumes, accentuated contrasts, concentrated colours: everyday aesthetics are challenged with a sense of humour, a sometimes absurd, often poetic, naïve spirit, in a language that speaks to us all.

Easy-to-use products that mimic the colourful graphic design of plastic or wooden toys, stickers, sprays and pencils encourage experimentation and the search for new forms of expression.

Every stage of childhood nurtures this beauty that remedies boredom and guarantees fun anti-ageing effects.
