Stahl launches Repura™, a new barrier coatings portfolio for paper-based packaging

Waalwijk, the Netherlands, 4 May 2026 – Stahl, a global provider of speciality coatings for flexible materials, presents its latest innovative and sustainable solution for the packaging industry at Interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf, Germany, offering maximum barrier protection with zero compromise.  

Boosting circularity with paper-based packaging 
The Repura™ range offers high-performance barrier coatings solutions that allow for the replacement of plastic materials in packaging, without compromising protection, functionality, or quality. 

The portfolio provides superior protection against oil and grease, water and water vapour (MVTR), and oxygen transmission (OTR), protecting both product and packaging integrity under demanding conditions.  

These coatings are suitable and customisable for a wide range of applications across paper & board, as well as flexible packaging, and can be applied in direct food-contact applications. Paper-based packaging remains recyclable and repulpable, facilitating conversion from plastic-based films and foils whilst maintaining both reliable product protection and aesthetic shelf appeal.
