In recent seasons, fashion has largely focused on exploring a series of aesthetic micro-trends (gorpcore, Y2K, officecore, quiet luxury, etc) to the point of exhaustion. Driven by the renewal of artistic-director-designers at the major houses, and more globally by a desire to break with formatted creativity, a fresh wave is beginning to sweep through creative, clearly advocated oxymorons: owning our 'coolitude' while remaining chic and charming (affection); achieving a sexy and mysterious aura in an authentic demonstration of freedom and power (invocation), cultivating our aesthetic and status-driven tastes in an approach that prioritises natural materials (honouration) and scrambling the codes of chic with an avant-garde attitude, without sacrificing elegance (re-composition).
