Phenolic and sulfonic syntans for retanning leather
Stahl’s diverse phenolic and sulfonic syntans are low-formaldehyde retanning agents and are a responsible choice for retannages. The agents can be applied to a large variety of leathers. Low-formaldehyde retanning with Tanicor®
Our Tanicor® portfolio includes a variety of low-formaldehyde synthetic retanning agents with high heat- and light-fastness properties. The formaldehyde reduction makes Tanicor® solutions an excellent choice for eco-friendly leather. The portfolio includes solutions for all leather types for different industries.
In particular, Tanicor® AS, Tanicor® IS and Tanicor® SW liquid are very suitable for retanning automotive leathers.
For specialty leathers, Tanicor® DLX-N is ideal for use with fine leathers, such as reptile skins and skivers. It has excellent heat- and light-fastness and bleaching properties, and gives a high degree of filling.

Tanicor® SCU liquid is the recommended choice for tanners looking for excellent grain tightness and the high filling of chrome-free leathers. Other solutions include Tanicor® RS-31 liquid and Tanicor® PWB-IN. Stahl offers Tanicor® RS-31 liquid, a retanning agent based on sulfone, for retanning automotive leathers based on mineral free or wet-white tannages. Tanicor® PWB IN is a powerful whitening replacement syntan with high filling properties. It is suitable for leathers used in shoe upper and leather goods.
